N-Power Volunteer Announces Plan To Take Second Wife With His Stipends, Thanks Pres Buhari For Empowering Him


If you think that N-Power, the social investment programme of the federal government of Nigeria is not transforming lives and helping beneficiaries to fulfill their dreams, you need a rethink. This is because a beneficiary of the scheme, Abubakar Muhammad has disclosed his plan to take a second wife with his monthly stipends.

The beneficiary from Zamfara state who made the disclosure on Friday November 17, 2017 in a post on a popular N-Power Facebook group,  Npower Community said he was planning to add a second wife with his Npower stipend.

The volunteer said: "Good morning my colleagues. I'm planning to add second wife with my Npower stipend. Please should I go ahead?

He thanked President Mohammadu Buhari for giving him the opportunity of being one of beneficiaries of the federal government youth empowerment programme, noting that it was from the same stipend that he took his first wife earlier this year.

But Facebook users who reacted to the post expressed mixed feelings about his decision, with some congratulating him and others scolding him for what they described as needless achievement.

One of those who commented on the post, Sulaiman Saratu challenged Mr Abubakar to go ahead with his proposal as it is his life which he can choose how to live it.

Saratu said: Who is stopping you? Go ahead now it's your life not mine. I'm surprised that under this harsh economic situation in Nigeria, ordinary N-Power beneficiary who is already married is now planning to take another wife.

Another person who reacted to the post encouraged Mr Abubakar to go ahead with his decision as he need nobody's permission to take a second wife.

He said: You don't need to ask brother. Follow your heart. It's a good decision since that is what you want at this time. So go ahead and take your second wife. You're a grown up and need nobody's permission to do so.

Others urged him not to start what he cannot finish as it would be very difficult for a young graduate to maintain a family with one wife at the current economic situation in the country.
