Permanency: Hope Rises For Anambra N-Power Volunteers As Commissioner Takes Message To Gov Obiano

Hope is now high for N-Power volunteers in Anambra state as the State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mark Okoye has pledged to take their message of request for permanency in the state civil service at the end of their two-year volunteer period to the state Governor, Willie Obiano.

The commissioner made the pledge at a one-day N-Power programme review meeting organised by the office of the N-Power Focal person in the state.

Speaking at the event which held Wednesday November 1, 2017 at the CWO hall of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Assumption Nnewi for N-Power volunteers in Anambra South senatorial district, Mr Okoye who was the special guest at the event said that volunteers in the state were making useful contributions in the education, health and agriculture sectors of the state and urge them to maintain the pace.

"We are seeing the good work you are doing in your different places of primary assignment. We are happy with the contributions you are making in the various sectors are posted to work. I want to encourage you to maintain the pace as there is a reward for every good work.

While reacting to a request by the volunteers that the state government should take advantage of the experience they are acquiring during this period of their volunteering by making them permanent civil servants in the state at the end of their volunteers period, the commissioner promised to take their request to the state governor.

"I have listened your message. As a servant, I will take your message to his excellency. Our governor is a supporter of youth empowerment. I am giving you my word that message will get him. We know that your services are needed and the governor is always concerned about youth empowerment and job creation. All you need to do now is to remain committed and dutiful at the place of assignment. Remember that structures are in place to monitor your behaviour at workplace.

High point of the event was the appointment and presentation of N-Power local government coordinators for each of the local government areas in the senatorial district.
