Benue Killings: You Can't Pay Workers, You Can't Protect Your Citizens - Reno Omokri Fires At Gov. Ortom | CNR

Apparently infuriated by Benue State government's poor and uninspiring handling of the massacre of its citizens by Fulani herdsmen, former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has lashed out at Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, saying the Governor could neither pay civil servants in the State nor protect his citizens o from killer herdsmen attacks.

Mr. Omokri, a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan said the Governor is only interested in supporting the second term ambition of Mr. Buhari.

Separate attacks by Fulani herdsmen in communities in Benue state have claimed many lives in recent times; with the latest claiming over 50 when the herdsmen invaded communities and launch attack on the locals following a dispute over grazing land.

The Federal Government has come under several criticism over its handling of the killings by  Fulani militants who have long been listed as the Fourth Deadliest Terrorist Organisation in the world by the United States government.

Omokri who was reacting to the latest gruesome murder of over 50 persons by armed Fulani herdsmen said that Governor Ortom has a lot to learn from Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike in defending his citizens from any form of harm.

Omokri said: "Governor Ortom, you can't pay salaries, you can't protect your citizens. The only you are good at is seeking for a 2nd term for Buhari who didn't lift a finger to help Benue during your flood and while the people of Benue were slaughtered by Fulani herdsmen.

He therefore challenged Governor Ortom to borrow a leaf from Governor Nyesom Wike who he said did waste any time in finding and killing those responsible for massacre of his people on the Eve of the New Year, 2018.

"So why are you a Governor? Learn from Governor Wike. Criminals killed Rivers citizens on New year and Wike placed a bounty of N200 million on them. The next day the corpse of the mastermind turned up. Ortom, place a bounty on the head of the Fulani responsible for the killings and watch what happens!", Mr. Omokri suggested.
