In a white paper titled "N-Power Permanency Bill to the National Assembly" and exclusively obtained by CNR Nigeria, the sponsors of the bill charged N-Power beneficiaries to collectively pursue the permanency agenda.

The circular urged the volunteers to occupy the social media and continuously raise arguments on the need to grant existing beneficiaries permanent status in the civil service.

"As our two year Npower contract is gradually coming to an end, it is time to collectively pursue the permanency agenda with Federal Government.

"Different platforms, struggles, and agenda under Npower programme with one aim and objective: "Permanency" across Nigeria may not give us desired results, but if we collectively champion the struggle from different angles, positive result is ours", the document signed by N-Power volunteer, Abiodun Demoon, read in part.

It said the bill which will be sent to the two chambers of the National Assembly is strictly to seek their legislative support towards the actualization of permanency for existing beneficiaries who will forced back to the streets by November when their two year period in the scheme elapse.

"At this time, we should be looking forward to a very strong and explanatory letter to be forwarded to the National Assembly: House of Representatives, and the Senate as bill urging, pleading, and requesting for our permanency from both States and the Federal Government. This is to be written and submitted by a volunteer or individuals, but submitting a bill in the name of Npower volunteers in a state or across Nigeria is the best we do".

The two year contract of the first batch of N-Power beneficiaries recruited in 2016 is due to end in November 2018.
