Former Abia Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has told Ex-President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo that he has no moral right to decide who becomes Nigeria's president in 2019.


Former Abia Governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has told Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo that he has no moral right to decide who becomes Nigeria's president in 2019.

The former Governor who stated this on Saturday maintained his earlier resolve to work for the re-election bid of President Mohammadu Buhari against any other candidate in the next year's election.

Kalu who is currently facing trail over allegations of embezzlement and money laundering, insisted that he would not support the presidential candidacy of his long time friend and ally, Sule Lamido - a former Governor of Jigawa State and presidential hopeful.

"Although Alhaji Sule Lamido happens to be my long-time political friend and aspirant for Nigeria President in the PDP, I told him I won't vote for against President Buhari", Mr. Kalu said.

"People seem to have forgotten when former President Obasanjo was literally absent for about three years travelling all over when he was President and then nobody told him not to seek re-election".

"He has no moral right to decide for Nigerians who becomes the next President. When he was President no one wrote letters advising him not to seek re-election.

He pleaded with Nigerians to vote for Buhari in 2019 so that he can continue to protect the country's treasury.
