Front line 2016 N-Power volunteers groups, G-111 for Permanency and N-Power Enhanced Advocacy Movement (NEAM), have broke their silence on why they suspended their planned joint meeting to discuss the proposed N-Power Enhancement programme and 2019 election.

The two leading groups explained that the planned meeting was suspended to enable them strategies on the next right steps that will represent and carter for the interests and aspirations of all volunteers who were very expectant of the outcome of their meeting.

This was contained in a joint statement issued Friday and signed by both the Publicity Secretary of G-111, Bolanle Abiodun and NEAM's spokesperson, James Obong.

They noted that while they regret the sudden suspension of the meeting, it was necessary to enable them give the federal government more time, adding that everything at the moment suggest that the federal government wants to deceive 2016 N-Power volunteers with their calculated silence and phony extension of time in the scheme.

The statement read: "We wish to announce that we have temporarily suspended our planned meeting. We also wish to place on record that we have not cancelled the planned meeting. We took the latest step to enable us give the federal government more time to come clear on its proposed Enhancement programme as it is on the basis of their next action or absence of their action that we shall take our next line of action.

"For the avoidance of doubt, we have for over one year, made serious effort to make out our government understand the dangers inherent in throwing the first batch of volunteers back to the street or fooling them with a strategic and calculated deceit called" N-Power Enhancement". If you recall, our position have been that, the hasty arrangement called enhancement was a trojan horse which every progressive and decisive N-Power volunteers should have seen for what it is".

"But since our leaders have chosen the way of deception by refusing to explain the terms and conditions of it's proposed Enhancement programme, including how beneficiaries will take part in it, we have decided to suspend our planned meeting so as to watch the government and take our next line of action. Two months extension of period in N-Power was not, is not, and can never be the fruit of our yearlong peaceful and humble agitation for permanence in federal civil service.

While N-Power beneficiaries nationwide are eagerly waiting for our directive on next year's election, we wish to state categorically that, volunteers are ready and eager to deliver over 1.5 million votes to our benefactor, our amiable President Mohammadu Buhari through their votes and those of their family members, but can only come to fruition when volunteers are assured of improved pay and permanent appointment or a befitting exit payoff. Anything short of this will jeopardize the trust and support volunteers intend to give to the APC federal government in next year's elections.

They enjoined volunteers to remain prayerful and supportive of the government while they await government plan on the proposed enhancement programme.
