You Have Confirmed Our Fears About Enhancement, G-111 Reacts to Afolabi's Live Chat

Afolabi Imoukhuede

Famous 2016 N-Power volunteers group, G-111 for Permanency has reacted to Tuesday Facebook live chat by top N-Power official and aide to President Muhammadu Buhari on Job Creation, Afolabi Imoukhuede, describing it as a confirmation of the fears volunteers have about the proposed enhancement programme.

The group expressed disappointment over Mr Afolabi's inability to provide the much expected necessary details about the enhancement programme, adding that it was a proof that the federal government have no other plan for the first of beneficiaries, except extra three months extension of time in the scheme.

This was contained in statement signed by the group's National Publicity Secretary, Bolanle Abiodun and sent to CNR Nigeria.

It said that Mr. Afolabi's position did not come as a surprise to the group, but added that it has become clearer to volunteers that what Mr. Afolabi Imoukhuede called N-Power enhancement is mere three months extension in the scheme.

"If there is any N-Power beneficiary who is still doubting about our initial position that the proposed enhancement programme is a deceptive move to quench our agitation for permanency, the Tuesday Facebook live chat by Mr. Afolabi Imoukhuede is your answer. In the said live chat, Mr. Imoukhuede made no pretense about the fact there's actually nothing like enhancement apart from the extension of time in the scheme by three months.

"This revelation by Mr. Afolabi Imoukhuede further justified our earlier position that the federal government have no plan for the first batch of beneficiaries. And, that the extension is mere political move necessitated by the fact of 2019 general elections. In us the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of president Muhammadu Buhari lost it all by not capitalizing on our wealth of experience by absorbing into the civil service and creating real jobs in the process. This is disheartening and a sad reminder that the political class care less about the children of the common man.

"Why is it that three months after announcing N-Power Enhancement programme, the federal government which Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede represents still could not explain to the eagerly waiting volunteers, the form and nature of enhancement, how volunteers would participate in it, how long the enhancement programme will last and what beneficiaries stand to gain from it. Is this not the same government that once proposed exit package for the first batch of beneficiaries?

In due time, we shall meet with brother groups to discuss the development and come up with resolutions that will shape voting preferences of N-Power volunteers across the country. Any one who still doubt our influence in the choices and behaviour of N-Power volunteers nationwide does so at his or her own peril. We earned their trust and confidence through our sincere, selfless representation", the group stated.

They urged beneficiaries to remain calm while they meet to study the latest development and come up with resolutions that will reflect the hopes and aspirations of N-Power volunteers.

  1. The enhancement should by now be defined how it would be for us rather than speaking much grammer. I have committed my service and time to Npower ensuring students are well thought with the hope that something good will come from the federal government. But there body language now is signaling to me that there is no clear stand in approving our permanence.
However we anticipate the next reactions from the office of the president.

    1. Then you should take terms and conditions of job offer seriously next time, it is a 2 years volunteer not job offer but stipend offer. Blame yourself first for not been able to save 200000 from the said 360000 you received for the past two years. You would have been a proud CEO by now... selling just even popcorn is better than throwing blames here and there.Think now of your next level come 2019.

  3. Actually, enhancement simply means an improvement, but we can observe that federal government is only using political gimmicks to keep us in suspense till after February election so that the opposition will not use the avenue to withdraw the power from them, but if withdrawing power from them will benefit us and enhance our life May Allah make it easy.

  5. Sincerity of purpose pays; trust is like a mirror once broken it can't be fixed. Which way Nigerian; how long will the youths continue to earn #30k as stipends? Do Graduates in Nigeria really have future? These are some the questions our political elites need to answer. I wish I could Runaway.home the best place to stay.
