'Ours Will Be Operation Alligator Bite, It Will Be Worse Than Python Dance' - Health Workers Said As They Threaten To Commence Strike September 20

Protesting Health Workers

If you think the on-going industrial action currently ravaging the health sector in Nigeria is ending soon, then you may need to think again. This is because the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU), umbrella body for health workers in Nigeria has directed it members to proceed on strike action from Wednesday September 20 should the Federal Government fails to meet their demand.

The Union said if nothing changed, the planned strike action tagged 'Operation Alligator Bite'  will no doubt be worse than the 'Python Dance' by the Army currently rocking the South East region of the Country, Vanguard reports.

It should be recalled that medical doctors in Nigeria under the umbrella of National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) had on September 4 commenced an indefinite strike.

A meeting of leaders of the Union and representatives of the federal government on Thursday September 7 2017 ended in deadlock as the Union refused to call off the industrial action embarked by it's members.
