Sacked Northern Senators Forum Chairman Bares His Mind, Explains Why He Was Removed | CNR


Sacked Northern Senators Forum, NSF chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu (APC-Nasarawa) has given insight on why he was removed from office as chairman of Northern Senators Forum, denying the allegation that he was removed for mismanagement of fund belonging to the group.

His removal was announced yesterday, Wednesday February 21, 2017 in a letter read by the presiding officer, Senator Ike Ekweremadu shortly before the end of plenary.

In the letter signed by NSF Public Relations Officer, Senator Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi), the forum explained that Mr Adamu was removed for "financial mismanagement and misadministration".

Senator Shehu Sani (APC-Kaduna) who is also a member of the forum had shortly after the announcement alleged that Mr Adamu and other executive members mismanagement about N70 million belonging to the group.

But Mr. Adamu, a pro-Buhari Senator who recently attacked former President Olusegun Obasanjo for criticising President Mohammadu Buhari denied the allegations.

Speaking to Channels TV during an interview, Mr. Adamu said the allegations were raised against him because he rejected the passage of election sequence by the Senate.

Senator Adamu had on February 14 led nine other Senators to oppose the senate passage of the amendment to the electoral act.

He vowed to stand by his decision and "resist any decision the Senate takes regarding Hus position".
