Again, Buhari Leaves Nigeria for Medical Trip in London

President Mohammadu Buhari will today, Tuesday embark on a four-day trip to the United Kingdom, UK for medical treatment.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the president on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Monday said President Buhari is travelling to meet his doctor who requested him to come for checkup when they met during a "technical stopover" in London last week.

"In the course of the technical stop-over for aircraft maintenance in London on his way back from Washington last week, the President had a meeting with his doctor.

"The Doctor requested the President to return for a meeting which he agreed to do", Garba said

The president had while returning from his visit to the United States, U.S on Monday May 3, 2018 made what the Presidency called "technical stopover" for aircraft maintenance in London.

But the Presidency's explanation did not go down many Nigerians with many, including the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP questioning the action and demanding full disclosure about the emergency stopover.

The President Buhari will return on Saturday, May 12th.
