President Mohammadu Buhari is received by cheering crowd at the Daura Helipad during a visit to his home state of Katsina on Friday

President Mohammadu Buhari on Friday arrived his hometown of Daura, Katsina state on official visit.

The President was received on arrival by a cheering crowd.

News Agency of Nigeria report says the Presidential helicopter touched down at the Daura helipad at exactly 3:15pm with the President and some members of his immediate family.

He was received on arrival by the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Farouk Umar, some politicians and well-wishers.

The President will spend the weekend in Daura and use opportunity of the visit to formally commiserate with the victims of the rainstorm that affected some parts of the state.
