7 Reasons Why Some 2017 Beneficiaries May not Get Their First Monthly Stipends in August


The N-Power Volunteer Corps, a Social Investment Programme of the Federal Government of Nigeria has through their spokesperson Mr Afolabi Imoukhuede disclosed some reasons why some volunteers in the scheme may not receive their monthly stipends when the scheme will be paying the newly on-boarded volunteers their monthly stipends in August.

In response to this, CNR Nigeria has articulated and explained the various reasons that could necessitate delay of payment or no payment at all. The reasons could be any of the following payment statuses listed below:

Payment on hold: Volunteers who were absent from their place of posting when monitoring and control team visits their Places of Primary Assignment have their payment on hold. The affected volunteers should beyond reasonable doubt prove the reason for their absence.

Absent: These are volunteers who missed the physical verification procedure. They are to provide the following evidence: Proof of age Certificate between 18-35 (35 as at 2018), Proof of NYSC Certificate , Proof of Degree Certificate from a recognized tertiary education, and Posting letter, Affidavits sworn after March 2018 are not eligible. NCE holders should provide their NCE Certificates.

Disqualified: These are volunteers who were disqualified from Npower because they did not meet the necessary criteria (Age, Employment etc.) or their documents were inconsistent. They are to provide the following evidence: Proof of Age Certificate between 18-35 (35 as at 2018), Proof of NYSC Certificate, Proof of Degree Certificate / statement of result from a recognized tertiary education, Posting letter. Affidavits sworn after March 2018 are not eligible.

Account Non-Nuban: Volunteers who have issues with account number provided to Npower need to go to their bank and rectify their issues and revert with a BVN slip.

Account with Unmatched BVN: Volunteers who have BVN on their profile, which is not linked to the account number provided, should report to the bank and link the BVN with the provided account number or provide and account number that is linked with the BVN.

Name unmatched: Volunteers whose name on their NPVN portal is not the same, as the name on their BVN slip should revert with a BVN slip.

BVN not exist:Volunteer whose remark read "BVN does not exist" provided a wrong / nonexisting BVN on their NPVN profile, such volunteers are requested to get to their banks to get a BVN slip and revert back to us.

Be guided that this is applicable to both existing and incoming N-Power volunteers who were recruited in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
