N-Power Cautions Volunteers Against Selling Their Device, Says Punishment Will Be Full Refund, Dismissal From The Programme

Nigeria's federal government social investment programme, N-Power Volunteers Corps has cautioned existing volunteers who are currently collecting their federal government financed devices to desist from selling them as they were given to enhance their efficiency and skill.

In a notice it released Thursday September 14, 2017 through its Facebook handle, the N-Power said that it has come to their notice that some volunteers are attempting to dispose their device.

"It has come to our attention that some of our N-Power volunteers are attempting to dispose their devices. We urge you in our best interest not to do so.

While noting that the N-Power Devices currently being distributed to N-Power volunteers were secured through an asset finance arrangement for 20 months with the Bank of Industry by the federal government, N-Power said the devices are to aid the continual learning and development of volunteers which seeks to enhance their employability, adding that the devices were loaded with special tools that will prepare them for labour market when they exit the programme after 24 months.

"These device are also work tools as it will aid the discharge of their community functions in your primary places of assignment be it at the Public Schools, Primary Health Centres or the Agricultural Development Farm Settlements.

It said that the devices contain global knowledge content contributed by their global partners such as Cisco, Google, Microsoft etc. on ICT, Leadership and Entrepreneurship for their continues development.

"To this end, volunteers are warned that if you dispose your devices, don't utilize the learning content on these devices, or you are find absent at your places of assignment, we have devised a means to gather such information and data.

"Once caught, you would not only be dismissed from the programme (without any appeal), you would also be blacklisted from other federal government social investment programmes and a Lien would also be placed on your bank account for the full refund of the asset cost to the Bank of Industry, the release said.
