2017 Recruitment: Pre-Selected Serving Youth Corps Member Writes N-Power, Demands Extension Of physical Verification Duration

A serving National Youth Service Corps, NYSC member in Zamfara state, Henry Paragon has written to the management of N-Power asking for extension of duration of the planned physical verification exercise to accommodate pre-selected serving corps members who would soon complete their national service.

N-Power is to commence physical verification of pre-selected applicants on Monday December 4, 2017 and it listed NYSC discharge certificate as a compulsory requirement for degree and HND holders. The verification exercise will run in local government secretariats across the country till 14th December.

But in an open letter addressed to the management of N-Power scheme and posted on a popular N-Power discussion group Thursday November 30, 2017, Mr Paragon who hails from Akwa Ibom state thanked the management of N-Power and President Mohammadu Buhari for establishing the scheme and for selecting him as one the successful applicants from the 2017 recruitment exercise.

Mr Paragon wrote: "With deep sense of delight, I beg to use this ample platform to direct my sincere kudos to the management and board of N-Power scheme under the distinguish leadership of His Excellency, Mohammadu Buhari for a fulfilled promise.

Writing in the letter titled " Please Treat With Human Courtesy" the Zamfara state 2016 Batch B Stream II corps member who claimed he would be completing his national service and consequently issued his certificate of discharge on 24th December 2017, pleaded with N-Power to extend the duration of physical verification exercise to accommodate pre-selected applicants who fall within this category.

"I am among the pre-selected 2017 N-Power beneficiaries, and I write on-behalf of the 2016 Batch B Stream 2 National Youth Corps members to please extend the duration of the physical verification exercise to at least 24th December 2017.Because our discharge certificate is to be issued on the 24th of December 2017 as stated.

Recall that Current News Reporters had earlier published a report alleging the 2017 N-Power recruitment procedure created an enabling ground for SSCE holders, undergraduates, serving youth corps members and civil servants to successfully apply and get shortlisted for physical verification while many suitably qualified unemployed graduates could not make the list.
