N-Power Enhanced: G-111 Fires Back at New N-Power Group, Says They Are Paid Agents

2016 N-Power beneficiaries leadership group, G-111 for Permanency has lambasted the newly formed N-Power Enhanced Advocacy Movement (NEAM) over a statement credited them in which they claimed that G-111 has lost popularity and trust among N-Power volunteers.

G-111 for Permanency, the foremost 2016 N-Power group leading the agitation for conversion of N-Power volunteers into permanent staff of the federal civil service described NEAM as paid agents whose sole aim was to bring division among volunteers by planting the seed of discord.

A statement on Sunday signed by its Publicity Secretary, Bolanle Abiodun, urged N-Power volunteers nationwide to watch the unfolding events in scheme closely to understand why the N-Power Enhanced Advocacy Movement (NEAM) has emerged, adding that if its mission was in the interest of N-Power volunteers, it would have emerged long ago to be part of the agitation for permanency.

"We read a statement credited to a certain group of paid agents who parades themselves as N-Power Enhanced Advocacy Movement (NEAM). In the said statement, the phantom group claimed the we in the G-111 for Permanency have lost direction and no longer represent the interest of volunteers. While this is laughable and ridiculous, we also found it very instructive and telling, especially when you consider the timing of its emergence.

"Those paid agents parading as volunteers also claimed that the yet-to-be announced N-Power Enhancement plan for 2016 beneficiaries was a lifeline extended to volunteers and a pointer that the government have our interests at heart.

Much as we are not opposed to this particular assertion, we dare NEAM to justify why the exit plan was not made public as expected. For more than one month, volunteers were eagerly waiting for what Mr. Afolabi described as "October good news". But to our surprise, all we could lay hold on was only extension of duration in the scheme by supposedly two months. Even the most unthinking kind of person will certainly see through this action of N-Power.

"Only enemies of N-Power volunteers would toy with or politicize this issue of permanency. This is about our future and survival. It is our earnest desire and should not be made a political issue. The fact that NEAM is coming at this time tells more about their intent and mission. One may be tempted to ask where those volunteers in NEAM have been all these months we have been leading this agitation for permanency in civil service.

"Our noble position remains that the federal government should lead by example and show sincerity of purpose by telling us in clear terms, what form the N-Power Enhanced programme and why we the volunteers should embrace it as a viable alternative to permanency. And this should be done without any further delay. Anything short of this will continue to heighten our fears that the proposed N-Power Enhanced is only a Greek gift in disguise".

The group urged N-Power volunteers nationwide to remain committed to any cause that will will guarantee a better for future them and not succumb to the antics of emergency groups like NEAM whose main objective is to create confusion among volunteers by sowing the seed of discord.
