Another 2016 N-Power Group Emerge, Attacks G-111 for Comment on N-Power-Enhance

Leading 2016 N-Power volunteers group, G-111 for Permanency, has come under fire following the emergence of a rival N-Power group who accused them of abusing the confidence that volunteers nationwide entrusted in them.

According to the new group which go by the name, "N-Power-Enhance Advocacy Movement" (NEAM), their surfacing has become necessary following the abuse of trust N-Power beneficiaries entrusted on the outspoken N-Power group, G-111 for Permanency.

Writing in a statement received by CNR Nigeria, and signed by the group's interim president, Adeyemi Babatunde and its spokesman, James Obong,  NEAM noted that it was outrageous for the revered vocal N-Power group to show such resistance to change despite the lifeline extended to volunteers by the federal government.

"We wish express our dissatisfaction with position of the outspoken N-Power group, G-111 for Permanency regarding the recently proposed exit plan for the 2016 volunteers. As patriotic and responsible citizens and volunteers who are not pleased by the way the group responded to the latest development, we have come together to form a stronger movement that will support and support the federal government in their determined effort to give the volunteers a befitting exit from the programme through the newly proposed enhancement programme.

"Having carefully studied the position taken by G-111 over the issue of N-Power Enhancement plan, we are convinced that their position did not represent the views and expectations of a vast majority of volunteers. We wish to assure our colleagues across the country that coming together is basically to give them voice on matters related to the planned enhancement programme.

"No person or  group can impose their views and ideas on majority of volunteers. We are too enlightened and clever enough to succumb to such pressure no matter how subtle it is. We enjoin volunteers therefore, to rally round us and give the necessary support needed to secure for them, their most desired future through the proposed enhancement programme.

"While we call the on the government to waste no time any further in revealing the nature, terms and conditions of the N-Power Enhance programme, we urge our colleagues to be patient with the federal government and N-Power team, and resist every temptation to abuse and ridicule the government that have benefitted us all. We believe that the controversy this announcement generated among beneficiaries was due largely, to the vogue and unspecific content of the communication.

"If G-111 has finally succumbed to political pressure, we are here to restore the hopes of volunteers and give them the needed apolitical, neutral, and objective stance for actualization of the demands" the statement read.

Recall that the 2016 N-Power group, G-111 had in a statement on Friday published by this online newspaper, expressed sadness over the inability of the federal government to come clear on its plan for the 2016 N-Power beneficiaries who are due to quit the scheme by the end of November 2018.
