November 18: Yul Edochie Campaign Storms Varsity Campus As Students Pledge To Vote Young Gov

It was overwhelming love and support yesterday at the Uli campus of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University as students, traders and commercial motorcyclists popularly known as okada troop out en mass to receive the governorship candidate of Democratic Peoples Congress (DPC), Yul Edochie who stormed the campus for campaign.

The governorship candidate who arrived the university main gate at about 4:15 pm yesterday Thursday November 9, 2017 was warmly received by fans and supporters who were apparently happy to see the Nollywood-star-turned-politician.

He walked through the major roads and business areas around the campus, meeting shop owners and students and interacting them. 

Mr Edochie told his supporters that he joined the race for the Amawbia governor's lodge to save Ndi Anambra from self-serving and deceitful political class who have deceived Anambra people for so long and are here again to mortgage our future.

The DPC candidate said: "I am happy for the overwhelming support and love you have shown me today. November 18 is day we shall all use our PVC to reject those old and self-serving politicians who have deceived us for so long. The time has come for our people to speak in one voice by election young, vision-driven and people-oriented leadership; all of which I represent. That is why I am in the race. By God's grace and with your support, I will lead you to the promise land of prosperity for all our people.

"Go to the polls on November 18 and cast your vote for DPC. Vote Yul Edochie for governor and expect immediate transformation of our state. Remember that your vote is your voice and your right. You must use it wisely to choose who will lead you. And I am ready to lead you to prosperity and abundance.

Some of his supporters who spoke with Current News Reporters expressed confidence and hope in the DPC candidate. adding that being a youth was an added advantage for the candidate.

"Having him in the race is a relieve for we the youth. We have been clamoring for young people to be given the chance to lead and now we have a young, vibrant, soundly educated and vision-driven young man seeking to be voted as governor in our state. It is a welcomed development and I can assure him of my unreserved support and vote on the election day, said an undergraduate student who gave his name as Frank Chijioke.

Another student, Esther Okolie said the November 18 Anambra guber election presents an opportunity for Anambra youths to reject old and outdated politicians and choose a young and vibrant leadership which Yul Edochie represents.

"Even if those old and wicked politicians will rig him out, I will happily vote for Yul Edochie for the very reason that he is young, fresh and new in the system. We should be tired of recycling old and outdated self-serving politicians who have no plans for us. Yul is young and accessible. We can always walk up to him and express our views and trust that he will listen and act on them. Enough is enough with those old politicians.

Edochie, a popular Nollywood actor is campaigning on the need for a young, vision-driven and purposeful leadership in the state as career politicians have failed the masses and deserve no more chance to continue with their deceitful leadership.
