2019: Get Ready To Vacate Aso Villa In May 2019 - Newly Elected PDP Chairman Hands Pres. Buhari Quit Notice

The newly elected chairman of Nigeria's leading opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus has handed a quit notice to the occupant of the country's seat of power, President Mohammadu Buhari, advising him to embark on disengagement process as his tenancy will expire on May 28, 2019.

Nigerians will be voting in a general election to elect new president, governors and federal and state legislators in February 2019 after which a new President will be sworn in on May 29 of the same year.

Mr. Secondus who was announced winner of the Party's chairmanship election at the Party's national convention held in Abuja yesterday, Saturday December 9, 2017 said this while addressing members of the Party after he was declared chairman elect of the Party following a tightly contested race.

He thanked the leadership and members of the party for the mandate given to him and his team which according to him was to return the party to power in 2019, adding that though that was a Herculean task, it was achievable.

Mr. Secondus said: "By my understanding, the mandate you have given us today is clear and unambiguous. It is to return our party to power come 2019. As Herculean as this mandate seem, I know it's achievable. My campaign pillars for this election are  "To Rebuild, Reposition, and Regain".

He therefore send a quit notice to the President Mohammadu Buhari-led APC government to be prepared to vacate Aso Rock Villa, the country's seat of power, as their tenancy will expire in May 2019, adding that this has become necessary as the country has suffered under the watch of the rudderless and clueless APC.

"Let me assure you great members and leaders of our party, that by the grace of God and with all hands on deck, the brief tenancy of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Aso Rock Villa expires on May 28, 2019. By this, we serve them a quit notice.

"This has to be immediate. In order to save our beloved country from disintegration. We are all witness to how the unity of this country was shaken to its very foundation under the watch of the rudderless and clueless APC. We therefore have a gigantic task of retrieving the country from APC's clear lack of direction and confusion starting with the Presidency.

While describing the APC as a mere conspiracy to seize power, the newly elected PDP chairman said the party was only hurriedly assembled to seize power without a clear cut plan for governance.

"In the words of the 34th President of the United States of America Dwight .D. Eisenhover, "If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party, it is merely a conspiracy to seize power".

"Judging from this, it is crystal clear to all Nigerians, that APC is not a political party, but a body hurriedly assembled to seize power without a clear cut plan for governance.
