OBJ's Open Letter: Fayose Reacts, Says Both OBJ, Buhari Are Analogue | CNR

Ayodele Fayose

Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has reacted to the letter Tuesday by a former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in which he advised President Mohammadu Buhari to shelve his second term ambition and retire honourably at the expiration of his tenure in 2019, saying that there was nothing new in the letter, as he (Fayose) had said those things about President Buhari.

He added that both Obasanjo and Buhari were like the accuser and the accused.

Chief Obasanjo had in a "special statement" issued Tuesday described Mr. Buhari as the  "the lice of poor performance in government - poverty, insecurity, poor economic management, nepotism, gross dereliction of duty, condonation of misdeed - if not outright encouragement if it, lack of progress and hope for the future, lack of national cohesion and poor management of internal political dynamics and widening inequality are very much with us today, adding that with such lice of general and specific poor performance and crying poverty with us, our fingers will not be dry of "blood".

Reacting through his handle, the staunch critic of President Buhari noted that both former President Olusegun Obasanjo and President Mohammadu Buhari were Analogue and does not represent the Nigeria of today.

"I agree with Obasanjo's letter even though he didn't say anything that I have not said about Buhari and his govt before. However, Obasanjo and Buhari are like accuser and the accused, two of them are analogue and does not represent the Nigeria of today", Governor Fayose said.

In a related development, as reactions continue to trail the Tuesday letter by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo to President Mahammadu Buhari in which the former asked the later to honourably retire from active politics at the expiration of his tenure in 2019, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has thrown a jibe at President Buhari, suggesting six possible things the President would soon do to distract the attention of Nigerians from Obasanjo's statement.

Reactions have been trailing the release of the statement with the latest coming Reno Omokri, aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan whose only concern was on what Mr. Buhari and the Presidency would soon come up with to turn the attention of Nigerians away from the critical issues raised in Obasanjo's letter.

Omokri asked: "What do you think President Buhari will do distract Nigerians' attention from President Obasanjo's letter?

"A: Release new Chibok Girls
B: 'Find' Billions in Jonathan's house
C: Ask EFCC to probe Third Term
D: Increase the price of fuel
E: Make NTA show #BBNaija, or
F: Release/Resurrect Nnamdi Kanu.
